Who We Are

Van Katehakis started K & Y Carpet One Floor & Home and has always been about family, hard work, and making customers smile. Today, the store is proudly led by co-owners Jim Katehakis and George Roman, who are joined by their family members and a team of friendly, local staff who live in the Melbourne area. When you visit our store, you won’t just see employees—you’ll see neighbors, friends, and even classmates from local schools!

We believe that being part of the community is essential. Many of our team members grew up in Melbourne, have kids in Brevard County public schools, and spend weekends at places like Wickham Park or taking trips to the beach. Just like you, we love visiting the Brevard Zoo, cheering for local sports teams, and enjoying all the great fun along the Space Coast.
